Hear the Sweet Voice of the Kalavinka bird
For all our yearning to know what it must have been like to be in the presence of the Blessed One, Buddha, the closest we can come is through acts of imagination.  This site now features a section devoted to educating our imaginations.  to visit that section,

For example, the Sanghata tells us that the Buddha had a voice as sweet as the kalavinka. But what is a kalavinka? What does it sound like? To listen to  the sweet voice of the kalavinka,  click here
In the Words of the Sanghata:
Bhaishajya-séna, in the future, at a time to come, if any sentient being dedicates their  mind to enlightenment, on account of that, should be seen as having great commitment. Bhaishajya-séna, although they encounter contempt, they should not be disheartened nor should they be discouraged.

Guide to Reciting

General Dedication

Sit for a moment, and mentally direct all the positive potential you have just created. There are many verses of aspiration that can be read. You can also specifically dedicate this positive potential to the health and happiness of  anyone you know who may be experiencing health issues or other obstacles in their life.

Extensive Dedication

On one occasion when sponsoring the photcopying of large numbers of copies of the sutra, Lama Zopa Rinpoche requested that the following dedication be made especially to benefit the Maitreya Project. It has been edited for use on this site:

Please pray for immediate success to get all the funding for the Maitreya Project, and for the statue to be completed quickly and to be of the most benefit to sentient beings, to purify their minds, collect extensive merits and to cause faith in Buddha, Dharma and Sangha and generate compassion, living kindness and bodhichitta in the hearts of all living beings and particularly in this world, particularly all the leaders of the world. Pray for all the terrorists, all those who cause so much violence to others in this world, to have perfect enjoyments and peace as well as inner prosperity, to generate the complete path to enlightenment in their hearts as quickly as possible.

Please dedicate merits to accomplish projects in Tibet as quickly as possible, and for them to be of most benefit and effective to get total freedom of religion in Tibet, and to get the country back.

For the monks and nuns in the east and west to have food, education and shelter.

For the immediate successes for all the projects, such as building holy objects of Buddha, statues and stupas, in order to purify sentient beings' minds and cause them to collect extensive merits immediately—to soften their hearts, and for them to find faith in refuge and karma, and generate bodhichitta.

For success immediately for all the social services projects, hospices for the dying, clinics for sick people, universal education and all the projects of the FPMT and other charitable organizations, as well as Dharma centers, to be successful, most beneficial for sentient beings and to able to fulfill all His Holiness the Dalai Lama's wishes now, and in all future lifetimes.
