In the Words of the Sanghāta:
The Blessed One spoke:
To arise as a buddha in the world,

supreme joyful effort must be made,

all sentient beings held within one’s care,

and one must teach the Dharma of virtuous action.
- Ārya Sanghāta Sūtra

The Sanghāta was translated into French from Tibetan by Christian Charrier. This is the final version, and replaces the earlier draft and the book edition.

At the request of Lama Zopa Rinpoche, the Education Department of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT) has taken up the task of getting the Sanghāta translated into as many languages as possible.

Christian Charrier has been a translator and studied Tibetan Buddhism within the FPMT in France since 1982 with Sera Je monastery teachers: Geshe Lobsang Tengye and Geshe Jampa Tegchok. He has also completed the traditional three-year retreat within the Karma Kagyu tradition, headed by Gendun Rimpoché.  He now lives with his family in the south of France and translates Dharma texts.
